New Forest Community Energy Launch Event
A new programme for the New Forest which aims to bring communities together to develop community owned and led renewable energy projects.
By Community Energy South
Come to the launch of an exciting new community energy programme in the New Forest and find out what we are doing to:
- support the development of community owned renewable generation projects
- help community buildings to lower their costs and carbon footprint
- develop a network of energy advisors to support people in rural communities to lower their energy bills
Hear from the New Forest District Council and Community Energy South about the programme and find out how you and your community can get involved to take local action on climate change.
All are welcome, particularly those who want to make an environmental difference locally. Refreshments will be provided.
Community energy is about people coming together to generate low-carbon heat and power and reducing energy use. It involves developing community-owned renewables – such as solar panels on the rooftops of community buildings – and supporting local households to reduce their energy use as a route to developing lower carbon communities.
New Forest District Council is launching a community energy programme that aims to support communities cut greenhouse gas emissions and take action to tackle climate change. The Council is partnering with Community Energy South to bring together communities from across the New Forest to deliver a range of community owned energy projects.
This is an exciting community led programme that involves as many local people as possible taking action on climate change in the New Forest
