Speed Indicator Device
The Parish Council owns a Speed Indicator Device (SID) which is moved around various locations in the Village in line with Hampshire County Council guidance. Our SID records vehicle speeds but is not a camera — it does not record any images and does not keep any data that could identify any individual vehicle. Its purpose is to give the Parish Council, Hampshire County Council and the police information about vehicle speeds which then contribute to decisions about speed limits and speed enforcement.

Speedwatch
The Parish Council is also grateful for the dedicated team of volunteers who make up our Speedwatch Team. Co-ordinated by volunteer, Dave Donawa, they can often be seen in their fluorescent jackets at various locations throughout the Parish. They record the details of vehicles exceeding the speed limit and forward the information to the police for action.
